Our Story
Founded in 2014, ARC Resources & Services is a fully equipped private studio that provides highly skilled and efficient services in the field of art conservation. The ARC stands for Art Restoration and Conservation and particularly takes care of an extensive range of art objects such as paintings, works on paper, sculpture, miniature paintings, prints, written media and contemporary materials. We specialize in the conservation of Indian traditional, modern and contemporary works of art.
The studio works with both institutional and individual clients in multifarious aspects that include not just restoration of paintings but other functions such as documentation, condition assessment, storage solutions and art handling as well as administering professional development trainings for conservators.
Anupama Gaur
Our Founder
One of the few conservators in India, Anupama Gaur pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from College of Arts, Chandigarh (1999) and then received training in Conservation at the National Museum Institute, New Delhi (2004). Skilling herself further in the domain of Painting Conservation, she interned at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK in 2006 as a recepient of the esteemed Charles Wallace Fellowship.
As a professional conservator for 18 years, she has actively managed many national and international projects at several cultural institutions from the National Museum, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Indian National Trust for Arts and Culture Heritage (INTACH) and the Courtauld Institute for Art to private-public museums such as the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art.
In 2019, she was selected for a two-week residency on Preventive Consevation and Collection Management at the British Library, UK. She also received the Icon- Getty grant fo a Continuing Professional Development Programme in UK and Ireland in the same year.
An independent member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the Institute of Conservation (ICON), she is well versed with international guidelines and standards of conservation practices.
The Team
Since its establishment, the studio has built a team of professionally trained and adept conservators. Fulfilling high standards of art conservation and treatment, every member of the team at ARC has acquired specialized training in the field. From degrees in Fine Arts to Heritage Conservation, they all bring a different level of expertise to the conservation process while adhering to its mission of minimal intervention. They share a passion and dedication for documenting and preserving depleting art forms of cultural significance, as well as promoting awareness about heritage preservation and conservation.
